The divine [personal profile] miss_s_b has been busy with important matters. Though it's a poor substitute for the fabulous work [personal profile] miss_s_b has been doing, I'm offering up this very, very short version of the newsletter, covering only some of the things posted to Dreamwidth communities over the last week. Just a little something to keep the Who juices flowing.

Before the recap, though, I'm inviting all who asked to be tracked here to jump on in with a self-plug to the Who fanworks, etc. you've offered up lately. Here's your chance to be a contributing editor. Just give us a link to the item you'd like to feature in comments to this edition of the newsletter.

Welcome to this week's Gallifrey Times!

Editor's Note: So I thought this week I would try the weekly format and see how long it takes me... Suspect we'll be going back to interim editions next week. This is winding up WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long for one day's entry. Reading List was up to 850 posts, and not all of those need to be linked, but even so... If I've made typos, do feel free to report them, but it might take me a while to get round to fixing them.

miss_s_b: (Fangirling: Cthulhu the Six!Fan)
Hi! Most of you have probably seen me bimbling about Who fandom; for those who haven't, my name is Jennie, my favourite Doctor is Six, and I am going to be shouldering most of [personal profile] evilawyer's burden in compiling GT as of tomorrow. E mentioned in her earlier post that I am planning on making a couple of changes - I want to reassure people about a couple of things that I definitely do not want to change.

Firstly, I do not want to tread on Who Daily's toes. I am a WD ed as well, and I think WD does a fabulous job on LJ, and I read the WD feed on a regualr basis. That said, I would like to see maybe closer ties between GT and WD - the two could, in my view, happily work in synergy, and I have been talking to the other WD eds about how this might happen without either of us trespassing on the other's territory or crimping each other's distinctive identity.

Secondly, I don't want to be spammy and overlong, (and I'm aware that this post is already heading towards that... ;)) With that in mind I would like to reduce the number of categories in GT, mainly to just cut down on the content to heading ratio.

The really major change I would like to make is to start tracking/linking to content from individual journals without them having to promote the content in a comm. DW comms tend not to be hugely active in comparison to personal journals, and this is in somewhat of a contrast to LJ (from what I recall of the LJ ecosystem). However, I AM aware that this is a big change and so I am including a poll. The poll also asks about some other stuff. I hope you'll take the time to answer it.

Poll #12988 Individual Journals
Open to: Registered Users, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 38

I would be happy for the number of headings to be cut

no, I find the distinctions very useful

I would be comfortable if GT linked to individual DW journals
